Our Story

A School Built on Purpose & Care

Founded by Mrs. Shelly Cook in 1995, New Garden School began as a small preschool in a converted house in Stutterheim. Today, governed by the New Garden Educational Development Trust, we serve nearly 200 students from Grade R to 9.

Our principal Mr. Myburgh leads with a clear philosophy: education must develop the whole child — academically, morally and socially.

  • Independent NPO & PBO — registered with the Dept. of Education since 2006
  • Official CAPS Curriculum — nationally recognised and accredited
  • Coding & Robotics Pilot School — one of the first in the Eastern Cape
  • Trilingual — English, Afrikaans and IsiXhosa
